Cam Janssen gets another start tonight for the Blues
Andy Murray has shuffled the lines a little bit for tonight’s home game against the Minnesota Wild. DJ King will not be in the lineup despite being recalled from Peoria yesterday. Tonight’s lines are:
Andy McDonald-David Backes-Paul Kariya
David Perron-Patrik Berglund-Brad Boyes
T.J. Oshie-Jay McClement-B.J. Crombeen
Brad Winchester-Keith Tkachuk-Cam Janssen
Darryl Sydor-Erik Johnson
Mike Weaver-Roman Polak
Carlo Colaiacovo-Tyson Strachan
Really good to see Kariya and McDonald reunited on the same line – they know each other well and link up nicely. Let’s see if David Backes can take advantage of centering this line. Alex Pietrangelo is a healthy scratch again. The Blues need to win games – and the “D” is relatively inexperienced already. It’s not his time yet. Cam Janssen gets another chance to impress. His skating is very much improved and he’s working hard to bring more to the team. He deserves his chance.
This is an important game – the Blues need to come out strong and hard. They need to play a physical game – it’s what brought them success last season. The lack of forechecking so far this season is a bit of a mystery. This is the first of back to back home games and Ty Conklin is expected to get the start against Dallas tomorrow.
